KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: Blue-green algae update
As a result of samples collected on 28 September, KDHE recommends that Zone A remain in a “clear” status, Zone B remain in a “watch” status, and Zone C remain in a “warning” status. Cell counts and toxin levels continued to improve last week in zones A and B with toxin levels in zone B slightly above the “watch” level while sample results from Zone C at Timber Creek and the City of Wakefield remain high with elevated cell counts and toxin levels.
Signs at all BG Algae info locations will remain the same as last week with the current information.
As a result of the current tests, designated beaches operated by the Corps of Engineers and Milford State Park will hopefully remain open for the remainder of the recreation season.
